Amazed Look !

Going back to a trip to Wisley gardens here, or more specifically the glasshouse, 2015, not so long ago really, especially when you say it quickly ! Ha ha

To me, looks like this orchid flower has seen itself in a mirror and gets a shock as to how beautiful it is, a bit like the Ugly duckling story ? It started off as a pretty plain flower bud but once fully developed and opened it's turned into a wonderful thing :-)
Then most of you know I'm on some pretty heavy meds, so it may just be the effects of them ! Ha ha
I hope that you will enjoy this photo too,if you would like to catch a few more of my photo's please have a look at other work of mine here  :-D Thank You.

Mad about Macro !

Going Full Circle !

So I've been playing around on G+ and have started to make a few collections, as you may know I spend a lot of my time in my little corner taking photo's of flowers, but trying to get as close as possible and taking many macro photo's, what better way to promote these than putting some in a group I'm calling Mad about Macro ! If you would like to pop along and have a look, maybe make a comment or give a like, I'd appreciate it a lot, see what you think, Thanks 😊

Little boy Not Blue !

It only seems like it's been a short while since I grew these Eryngiums from seed, I was a little shocked to find that this photo was taken in 2010 :-o
To me it feels like last year !
That's what happens when you look back and select another shot from the trawl through the hdd's in the recent past, when I was doing a great deal more sowing and raising from seed, I attempted to get plants of this eryngium over the course of a few years, these stand out for me not only because I managed to get them to germinate and survive, but as I had made a decision that it would be my last attempt, sometimes you have to know when something is not going to work for you, I'd put it down to many things, late sowing, too early, unripe seed, old seed and many other reasons, so I was over the moon to see these tiny little shoots appear, maybe it was because I thought "oh well if they do not germinate this time, I'll have to bite the bullet and buy some plants" if I wanted them in the garden, it was a pleasure to watch them go on to grow into some rather spectacular plants though, I can not remember how many seeds I sowed but getting just one to grow would have been a success, having several come through was a real bonus.
The flowers are a magnet for any insect and most shot's contain at least one or two bees or hoverflies, Although they are after something completely different, you can not blame them, as I think they have an amazing shape and colour.
I hope that you all enjoy this photo. Thanks   :-)

Plenty More to Come !

Windowsill Christmas Cactus
When I was setting up for the Windowsill Cactus photo's, like normal, I try to look around the subject to "see" the shot that I may have in mind or to find something that just shouts, me me me ! I always make a mental note as to where it is, but keep looking, you never know what's just around the bend ;-) So whilst I was entranced by the flowers and set up for them, in the back of my mind was that I had seen plenty of new and developing buds and wanted to take a few shots of them, it was only when I had them in focus I could see the tiny little spines surrounding the flower bud area. Looking at the photo now though I realise that maybe I should have taken more notice of the background where these are, as a lot of the definition has been lost, if you notice just how much bolder the ones on the right are with the darker backdrop than the ones on the left !
Anywho !
Something to remember for the next shoot, I shall be drawn back in by the new flush of flowers and will have to get the camera out again ! I hope that you enjoy this photo, even with it's little flaws, or maybe that's just me being hyper critical, when you invest time they are all special to each individual photographer.
Please enjoy, feel free to add your opinion, Thanks :-)

Dew covered Euphobia. A photo of a euphorbia taken after a very mist laden night
Dew covered Euphorbia
I had the chance to spend a few days around the Beaconsfield area, so camera at the ready I went off in search of some nice landscapes, only problem was we were having a few heavy misty mornings and when I got to the vantage point I had notice on my way to the hotel, it was completely fogged out. I had passed a local garden centre, just outside the town, thinking that I might be able to get a hot cup of tea pulled into the car park. After having a look around I saw that some of the plants were covered with the heavy mist and dew, they looked like the perfect subject for a photo shoot, I went and found the manager, who was very helpful and allowed me to take these shots of Dew covered Euphorbia. I hope that you enjoy this photo, please feel free to either Like or Share them if you would like to see more of my photographic works then please pop on over to Nature's Pixelator Smugmug
